Intermediate Datacenter/Customer Support Technician

Provision Data is looking to grow and needs an intermediate level IT professional to help us do that! The successful candidate will work with the team to take care of our managed service customers and manage many aspects of the Datacenter infrastructure. The candidate should be keen to learn enterprise technologies and enjoy a variety in their work as well as have great people skills.
Job Description
- Datacenter Technical Duties
- Build, test, and deploy new technologies and equipment
- Manage Backup Infrastructure
- Maintain Documentation and assist in audits
- Respond to after-hours events when on call
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide Customer Support
- Monitor the support ticket system, emails and incoming phone calls and respond to customers with assistance
- Provide MSP support remotely or onsite at customer locations
- Design, build and deploy office networks including servers, workstations, switching and routing
- Troubleshoot Windows server and workstation related issues
Requirements
- Must be comfortable with Mac/Windows/iPhone/Android OS’s
- Great people skills, above average patience
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Hands on knowledge of basic Linux administration and troubleshooting
- Hands-on in-depth knowledge of Windows Server configuration and administration including AD, RDP & GPOs
- Have knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP protocols, and be able to troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Have knowledge of routers, switches, network concepts including VLAN, STP, LACP, Distributed LACP
- Vehicle and valid BC Driver’s License
- Will require RCMP record check and drivers abstract
- Available for 24/7 on call emergency duty on rotation (after probation period)
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in information systems or industry certification and 3-5 years related industry experience
Preferential Experience
- Familiarity with Meraki, UNIFI, ARUBA equipment and management interfaces
- Virtualization Administration in VMWare
- MS Exchange/MS365 Administration
- Networking cable terminations, CAT6 & Single Mode fibre
- Knowledge of storage systems & protocols
- Familiarity with CCTV and Access control systems
- Familiarity with RMM systems
- Familiarity with VOIP handsets and PBX and SIP trunking
